House of the Dragon Tours
House of the Dragon came to Cornwall because of the unparalleled coastal scenery of three specific locations. Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula and is featured in Episode three as the Valyrian Camp location. It has also featured in Poldark and the Agatha Christie classic: “ And Then There were None”. Kynance has extraordinary cyan coloured water and is bordered by cliffs of green and red serpentine rock which give the Lizard its name.
We visit Kynance Cove as part of our Poldark tour day of The Lizard, but can work it into a specific House of the Dragon tour day with the other two locations mentioned below.
The Poldark famous beach of Holywell, between Newquay and Perranporth, on the north coast of Cornwall is also used in House of the Dragon. It features a few times and has a very distinctive system of sand dunes that are instantly recognisable. But perhaps the most impressive of the locations is the tidal island of St Michael’s Mount.

We always visit Holywell as part of our North coast and Nampara Poldark Tours but it can easily be visited independently if you want or combined into a House of The Dragon day tour.
St Michael’s Mount and its distinctive castle feature as the Velaryon Family stronghold and you can even picture huge dragons circling when you see it for real!
We view St Michael’s Mount as part of our West Cornwall Poldark Tour but can arrange a half day on the island separately if you’d like to explore it in more detail.
